Dego,

Thank you for advancing me to round 2 and for sharing your tracks for this contest!

I have addressed your concern about "impact lost up to main section" while applying additional automation and fine tuning throughout.

My R2:
  1. More distinct and clearer upright bass sound.
  2. Mix less loud, now targeting -18 dB integrated loudness.
  3. Subtle improvements (I hope this is OK to do) adding very slight spaciousness to the guitars and choirs and rounded the transients on the plucked acoustic.
  4. Simplified the session to clear out redundant / counter-acting EQ plugins.

Made some small level and eq changes that added some space. I think the bass was a little heavy in the first version and I brought up the choir .5dB

Here's the revision. I practically left everything alone except for the choir. I made some adjustments on the choir reverb to poke out more and to the choir itself to have more dimension. Also turned it up a little here and there. It sounds clearer now and clashes less with the strings.

It's the 15th April 2018, 4:25pm - the 2nd Mix Round has officially ended.

Sadly, not all participants sent in their edits. We're missing Jarouse and Arthur Labus. So they're officially out of the game.
Please check your upload links again, and have an eye on this thread for the final results.

I'm now opening up the room (again) for Q&A's and giving each other feedback (which is highly encouraged)
Both the Mix Challenge 42 and Songwriting Competition 08 are still in full swing. See you on the flipside.

Sorry, I did not know about the second round. I did not receive any notifications.
Nevertheless, I do not feel that I need to change something in my mix, since I do not want to spoil the idea of the song with extra effects.

just in case, if you let me, i leave a link to my mix.

Hello? 10 days since Round 2 closed and no comments or status update from anyone?

I have some comments to share but not sure this thread is still active. What's happening?

No "inconvenience" - just anxiously awaiting results that are normally announced a couple days after close of Round 2.

I entered a contest back on the old forum where the client became "out of contact" after all the final mixes were submitted. Not sure if that one was ever awarded - I stopped following. Felt a lot like this...
