1) The TOP 5 votes, ordered from highest to lowest: 2) The feedback to fellow musicians: ThomC "Another Night At The Movies" It's such a great piece that I feel it would be a shame for me to evaluate it. I'm embarrassed to have participated in the same contest. Strange "I rise" I...

Hey everyone! Here's my track for this challenge. This time, I went for a short cinematic track in the spirit of the movie companies intros. The chord progression inspired me to go in that direction very naturally (hence the name). It's kind of a tribute to some of the great childhood memories I ha...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC091 March 2025 - Submissions until 24-MAR-2025 23:59 UTC+1/CET

Hi fellow music makers, For this challenge I wanted to make a lofi hiphop beat. For that vibe I added a 7th to all the chords to make it more jazz-like. To get a nice base with some movement I added an arpeggiator to the midi chords and ran it through my analog synth (Behringer Pro-800) while tweak...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC091 March 2025 - Submissions until 24-MAR-2025 23:59 UTC+1/CET

Greetings and salutations, I enjoyed composing with this chord progression. As a hobbyist, I always feel rushed to finish these competitions. But, I actually made it in time to submit this month(although I wish I had more time to polish the production...didn't have time to do any volume automation)...

Hi, here is my entry for this month: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PHvNpHg5Ct2mc8Xe_R9KS2Fj0d-eOI-D/view?usp=share_link To get a more hiphop/funk/r&b vibe I had to invert the chords and add a 7th. On a few occasions I even completely swapped the chords to get some variation. I tried to keep ...

Hi, I like this chord progression, thank you Mr.Fox. As I started playing around with these chords they reminded me of Forever Man by Eric Clapton. So I started a funky souly version... it ended up here https://soundcloud.com/petervoss/swc091-strange-i-rise I hope you like it. Recorded during last ...

A personal reviews of the works provided so far: APi_ZZ: Good, with generic instrumentation, a style choice. These wonderful 80's/90's MIDI synthesizer instruments are all over. These are used very well, especially the end is earjerking. The key change/shift upwards in the middle is creative and do...

Dear challenge partners and Mister Fox. This month's challenge immediately motivated me. Based on the chords that were provided to us in MIDI format, I drew all the tracks (or almost all). I extended the 4 groups of chords 16 times (if I remember correctly), that is, now the chords last 16 times lo...
