Happy New Year to all! My experience: I think December was quite busy for everyone. I'm glad some of you have been able to make some good songs during this time of time pressure. Usually for me, every month when I enter a competition, the first few days (up to 2 weeks) are spent researching and lear...

Re: Songwriting Competition - game mechanic changes: Voting Process (October 2022 Update)
And I am sorry to say this, but I will not further alter the current used points mechanic. I think there is a difference in approach between us on this issue. I think the new scoring system unduly penalises those who drop out of the top 5 once and unduly rewards average songs. My real life example ...

Re: Songwriting Competition - restriction on vocal sample usage (December 2022)
I understand the decision, although like all things, there are many sides to it. positive aspects: - someone will not be at a disadvantage with lower quality or "homemade" vocals, compared to professional sound libraries - the composer will be forced to create his own melodies (possibly al...

... it felt like the ending is a bit abrupt. Thank you for your feedback and kind words. Yeah, i didn't really know what to do with the ending. It's a real unfinished song  But I can only congratulate you on your song. I really like your vocals. Very pleasant to listen to your song, the nost...

Interesting picture has become the theme of the month. The first things that came to mind from the picture: quite dark, gloomy style, desolation, winter, loneliness, longing, hope, nostalgia, sentimentalism... I started to write lyrics in a similar style (first real attempt, I apologize for the simp...

Re: Songwriting Competition - game mechanic changes: Voting Process (October 2022 Update)
I need to think about this, do more tests. However, two things already stand out. 1) so far we never had a "full row of 10s" or "full row on 9s" in a game... 2) it would make the Bonus Point mechanic useless, ... Thanks for the reply, yes i understand your arguments too. 1) of c...

I understand your point, and music is highly subjective. However, the task was to create "Metal Music". And what Treyt created, is a form of modern metal, with certain quirks from this particular sub-genre. Same goes for your "Power Metal" inspired production. I really sorry, bu...

Re: Songwriting Competition - game mechanic changes: Voting Process (October 2022 Update)
I don't know if I should write here, but maybe the these questions are belonghere: I would like to comment on the new scoring system for the songwriting competition I think the current 10-9-8-7-6-0-0-0-0 system is not really fair. There are examples of fairer distribution from many competitions, e.g...
