1 - erictracks - Killer Trucker
A concise, to the point arrangement that fits the brief perfectly imo. Love the dark chord progressions, and dissonant guitar harmonies.

2 - OctopusOnFire - Mecha SpiderQueen
Solid use of melodies and instrumentation, coupled with that 'plodding' beat really conveys that eerie sense of something otherworldly.
Production's on point too.

3 - beeble - Devils & Angels
Really clever use of samples to convey the good vs evil narrative. Nice instrumentation and vocal work, although I thought the mix overall lacked balance

4 - FixInTheMix - Spooky Level
A perfect representation of 60's era Hollywood horror. Catchy melodies and varied use of instruments made for a fun listen.

Gentlemen - we still have a couple of days left to go, yet all votes are already in. Nice work, everyone! :tu:

Still,I ran into a predicament.

We have 2 participants that made 37 points, and three that made 32. As per the rule set, the people that are ties, are then judged by how many 10's they have, then how many 9's, etc. This is actually quite easy for the ties with 32 points. But... this is where I have dilemma - the two people that tie with 37 points have the same values as votes.

So my question out to you:
What should I do to make this fair for everyone?

 Option 1: We're using Tbase2000's vote (even though, he's disqualified due to his withdrawal)

He did his feedback a couple of days back already. Funny enough, his votes for the 32 point ties actually also result in the same ranking as if he wouldn't have given feedback. But it would set the 37 point tie apart.

 Option 2: I'm casting a vote

I wanted to give feedback to the tracks regardless. I could combine this with a vote - but only if all participants are fine with that.

We still have a couple of days. Please let me know what you think.

Tbase2000 forfeited his right to participate when he removed his submission in my opinion.

I think option 2 is the most fair.

I agree with option 2, since you're going to give feedback you may as well throw in some votes.

good idea Octopus.
Maybe you should give your vote to every songcontest too,to have one extra neutral and independent vote.

I'd rather stay out of this unless absolutely necessary. Especially as I can't tell beforehand either how much time I have free on my hands to join as "independent vote" (due to "behind the scenes" work). This current case is a bit special - and we're still at the beginning of the SWC. So things are still in motion until about SWC04 to SWC05.

Looking at recent posts, it's currently four votes for "independent scoring" to break the tie, even though Eric didn't respond yet, and Tbase2000 is disqualified. Alright, I try to get my vote cast done tonight.

We should still find a solution for the future however, how to handle such a circumstance.
If you have some spare time, please give feedback in the Rule Set Discussion thread. Thanks.
