I remember which one that was - it was awarded after a long delay due to health issues...

But I already reached out - I hope to get a response soon

Hey guys. Here is my feedback for round one. There were some notable changes following round one and it is getting harder to choose an overall winner as a result. Good job.

Photonic
Choir still barely audible in intro.
Choir more present in first main section.
Volume automation gives the choir a real feel.
Nice balanced key change.
Good balance overall.
Volume automation stands out and really adds to the track.

VasDim
Nice balance of the parts in the intro.
Kick and snare are a little weak through out.

Nonlinear
Really nice subdued strings and guitar that add a really nice mood that was not already there.
Choir non-eixistent in intro. Not good.
Nice choir in main sections.
Phaser effect still good.

HenrikHjortnaes
Nice reverb on intro guitar.
Nice subdued strings on intro.
Nice subdued choir on intro.
Bass now present on intro.
Drums could be more present.
Nice build ups.

DodgingRain
Nice subdued atmospheric intro.
Interesting use of delay on the guitar in the main section.
Could be louder.

OctoOnFire
Nice fade and effect on intro guitar.
Delay added an urgency to the intro guitar.
Choir impact lost in mix at start.
Drums sit nice in the mix
Guitar stab nicely emphasised.
Better choir in the key change.
Good balance of parts.

Jarouse
Nicely balanced.
Again, close to the original.

My mix is different from the original, if you listen. I just did not change the idea.

First and foremost, congratulations to the winners!

The Winners Podium is
1) OctopusOnFire
2) photonic
3) Nonlinear

We perform with the usual - please select one license out of the pool (in order of the winners podium) and mention it in this thread, then (important) get in touch with me via PM with your full name and mail address.

I'll update the "winners podium" thread shortly.

Thanks again for your participation. You can leave the thread alive if you want to exchange tips/tricks, edits, etc.
MC43 is in full swing - see you over there!

To the songwriters among us, the Songwriting Competition 09 is also up and running. You can find it here:

Congratulations Octopus and Photonic and thank you Dego and Mister Fox!

I know Octopus and Photonic have first dibs, but if they don't chose it I could really use a copy of Acon DeVerberate. :tu:

Wow, first time I actually make it into the podium, feels good :D

Thanks to Dego, I'm glad you liked my work, and congrats to Photonic and Nonlinear for making it into the podium as well!

I'd like to get the ACON Restoration suite, if possible.

The LA-3A From Black Rooster audio looked tempting, but I'll just download their freebies, check them out and leave it for another time.
