So far we have 64 participants..

I have created a big list with all mp3, wav and screenshot links.

Occured minor problems:
Photonic: your filename does not begin with MC055_
Dodgingrain: extra e (schoen) in MC055_Rahal_Kannschoensein_Dodgingrain
martinantonsson: o instead of 0 (MCO55) extra o (schoon) in MCO55_Rahel_Kannschoonsein_MartinAntonsson

Occured major problems:
Jonssin Musiikki: you have no link to the .wav (only 2x the mp3) - messaged user about this

I will post the list when the time for submisssion is over, as more participants may still arrive.

if misterfox permits me, I will upload .mp3 s of all participants in a (about 350 MB) song pack in one .zip to WeTransfer to sit there for a few moments.

So this is very much a learning environment for me, as my name suggests.

Console6 buss and channel,Arena reverb, Purestgain, ReaEq,NC17, Righteous 4, Ditherbox, Youlean, minus delay, ResEq, compresaturator, lowpass2, Guitar conditioner, Fracture, Pop, wider, Tonelib, high pass, Distance2, Dragonfly room, Transpire, Forbice, Couture, adclip7, pyewacket, drumslam, pressure4, Desk4, Brassrider. Audacity.

A lot of fx, mainly because i am trying to figure out what works and what doesn't, hopefully better than my previous entries :D

hello,

here's my mix..

mp3: https://app.box.com/s/1m81wljohonkwelnxqll716zpmmijitk
wav: https://app.box.com/s/u3cazrw4xgfcg9woj8d9crznltib470x

I remember mixing other 2 songs from the Zitrone EP before so I was fairly familiar with what to expect, very good tracks and song! :tu:

some highlights from my mix:

mixbus: some glue and color from an SSL Bus type compressor, A tape plugin, an EQP1A emu and a limiter... barely touching them, using them more as mixbus plugins to mix into rather than a 'mastering' chain.

I have some busses with some parallel processing and sends.. Drums, Bass, GTRs, Vocals
I have much processing and not really worth mentioning I guess so I'll try to mention the busses and other more interesting stuff.

Drums Bus:
tried to control especially the highs.. have eq, bus compression, dyn-eq only on the highs, tape to try to smooth the peaks/highs again
I have some sub-groups too... for the kick, snare, toms and the others, each have their own processing incl parallel and sends. If anyone is curious in anything in particular, please ask..

parallels for the drums bus: drums crush (aggressive compressor) for density and another all-button-in 1176 emu for a different kind of density and snap, highs exciter to give the impression of extra brightness without the peaks..

Bass Bus:
dyn-eq to control the low-mids and a Pulteq EQP1A ... on the track itself I have eq cutting somewhere in the mids and low-mids, compression and a crush parallel. Sends to a tiny bit of a chorus and doubler

GTRs: tried to keep the original tone as much as possible but had to use eq and other processing to blend them into the mix.

VOX: Vocals were a bit tough since they were always peaky/too dynamic and the dynamics were more in the mids to high-mids somewhere so I needed some MB comp/dyn-eq work... before that I have some surgical cuts trying to isolate mic resonances.

I have two subgroups here: Lead and Bg. Vocals
few mults and much processing in total incl many parallels and sends, please ask if curious.

Best"

Hi everyone, this is my mix.
What I did is here below.

I mainly used only 3 plugins, H-Comp, CLA-76, and normal EQ.
but Drum stem is send to a stereo bus, and compressed with RCompressor.
Then I used SSLComp for total compression.

Hope you like it.

Hello, here is my submission for MC055. Thank you fajebru for providing this song, and Mix Challenge for this forum. I had a lot of fun working with this piece, very different from the last one.

I used a little compression and EQ where necessary (quite a bit on vocals to tame the dynamics, and room resonances). Grouped the guitars, and addressed each group with unique effects to differentiate them from one another. Created space through panning, some M/S processing, and reverb (used somewhat sparingly). Automated various track levels, and plugins to generate added "feel", then bussed the stems OTB for summing. Throughout the mix I also used many stages of subtle compression to give it that pop feel, without too much harmonic build up.

Thanks for the opportunity. here's my mix:

gated the lows in the drums and kept most of it mono for a tight punchy sound. not too much mids in the bass, left that for the guitars. guitars: no reamping, i did change the sound a little to something more mid-crunchy. went for quite loud backing vocals to make the chorus stand out nicely. as a whole (2bus) i went for a heavy, darker sound. i felt i suited with the rockvibe of this track. hope you enjoy!

Seems you have dropbox set to personal, so unable to access.

Hi there!

Plugin-wise mainly UAD-Stuff and Acoustica Nebula stuff was used.
a few Hardware compressors were in: WesAudio Timbre on vocals, BAE10DC on Kick, Distressor on Snare, TLA-100a on Bass

SSL G Series on Mix Bus.
Summing on Neve Genesys G32 with 88r-EQs on Drums

Here it comes:

Hi there,

Found this site/contest yesterday and decided to give a shot.

Not many secrets here, just:

Tried to add the mood I felt the song needed.
Reamped the guitars and bass.
Added some spice on vocals.
Besides that, not much else outside the ordinary.

Keep up the good work.
