Hi to all!

Loved this one, I especially enjoy rock music and tried to bring it to a feeling of a rock band playing together as the provider wanted.

Always do rough mix first to get the feeling. From the beginning I realised the problems like the “pointy” snare, muddy bass etc. But the most challenging for me was to glue the guitars, part-wise, panorama and as I said to give a feeling of 2guitarists playing together with the additional Solo guitars and FX as a contribution of guitars and not a huge studio-production vibe.

For the processing part I used a lot of all the classic stuff a rock song needs: compression, eq and reverbs, not fancy stuff, tricks and modern methods, just simple 80s-90s methods

Hope you like it as much as I did !!

First sorry for my basic English.

I read the rules and suggestions from the Artist and forum moderator. I decided to stick to it.

Well, that's a damn fine mix sir! Love it.

Hi everyone. It's great to hear the different mix versions of this song. Really great stuff.
...but...
I've heard two submissions that are clearly (at least to my ears) using drum replacement/augmentation on the snare.
If you're new to the forum and weren't aware, this breaks the rules and you have to go stand in the naughty corner!

I had my first submission (for the previous mix challenge) disqualified :scared: coz I stepped over the line...basically, I didn't take the time to understand the submission criteria. Total PITA thing to happen when you've spent a lot of time on a mix.

Anyways, keep them mixes comin'.

And... this is where I step in.

While I appreciate feedback by @PonySho -- one has to trust what has been written with the documentation (which is really sparse for some participant) and one's ears. Some entries do sound questionable. However, we can and should not underestimate what transient tools, EQ and saturation can do to a given sound. Which is the whole point of a Mix Challenge - to learn to push boundaries.

However, the final word has the Song Provider @JeroenZuiderwijk and I (@Mister Fox, the host, if it comes to pure technical stuff like Loudness Specs, Sampling Rate, Song Length, Filename Template and file accessibility).

If you are new to the community - welcome. But please stick to the well established Rules and Guidelines (and by extension, also the Mix Challenge Addendum regarding drum editing). You put a lot of effort into your work, please don't put that effort to waste.

I share images of the processes I did on the snare, I don't know if it was because of my clarification that you couldn't use drum replacements, but as my snare sounds a bit different to the raw snare, I leave the images of how I processed it, in the first image is my drum section with its routing, and then one by one all the processes used, copying my parameters you should get the same sound or a very similar one due to the parallel processes and the mixbus. Greetings Colleagues! good weekend to all of you!

Thanks for the son @JeroenZuiderwijk, its good fun.

Heres what i did after balancing and minor equing on all tracks

Bass: ran through an amp, tube saturation, tiny bit of distortion and overdrive, a bit of fuzz

DRUMS; (send to saturation channel with glue compressor and saturator)
Kick: just eq and de-bleed (send to dirt channel with saturator and compressor) (send to parallel comp channel)
Snare: De-bleed, transient shaper, eq (send to dirt channel with saturator and compressor) (send to parallel comp channel)
Floor Tom: De-bleed, eq, compression (send to dirt channel with saturator and compressor) (send to parallel comp channel)
Rack, overheads and room: Eq

Guuitars: Eq, stereo widener on most, some tracks had a send to a side only processing channel with eq and saturation
Solo guitar was being sent to a saturation channel, dirt channel, an echo channel and plate reverb channel

Vocal had eq and some side channel send

Mix bus had glue compressor, saturator and pre amp.

Really enjoyed mixing this one.
