Hi all,

The moment you all have been waiting for..... I have decided that I am going to give feedback to ALL the 110 mixes. It is the 100th aniversary after all!!!

I have listened to all of your mixes and I paid attention to the details of your mixes. I know it must have been hard work to make the tracks I have provided sound good….so my compliments, there is real quality in these mixes.

Please double check if I have included your mix. I have copied and pasted the notes I made and I think I didn’t miss anything, but If your name isn’t on the list it is not because I didn’t listen to your mix but I might have messed up with copying and pasting. In that case please let me know!

Many thanks for the detailed explanation of how the mixes came to be, that is really very valuable and I liked reading your mixing notes.
The top 15 was a real challenge for me. There where simply too many fantastic mixes. The mixes I have picked for the top 15 are mixes that have some elements that I find interesting. It can be details or the whole sound. I am not saying these are the 15 best mixes….who am I to judge? If you read my notes you will see that many mixes got a very positive feedback. Not just the top 15. But those are the rules, I had to pick 15. So here is my top 15 in random order:
► Show Spoiler
And below you will find my feedback to all mixes in order of upload. Enjoy reading and hopefully we all learn something from it.

Thank you very much for your feedback, thanks for the compliment on the guitars, bass, and drums, I usually don't process guitars unless I hear a problem, in my years on stage as a bass player in several bands, I learned that guitarists spend a lot of time at home setting up pedals and equipment to achieve the sound they have in their head, and I like to respect that, and regarding the snare, in post # 117 I left pictures of all the processes I did to the snare in case anyone is interested, I think the snare was what gave me the most headache.

Gracias totales
Thank you in full

Wow I wish I could have had that feedback before the upload I used a template that I use with my metal stuff and just after some slight tweaking to the threshold on my Instrument bus compressor, a touch of low end off the bass guitar and kick drum and a bit of a boost to snare and thats pretty much what I was aiming for originally. Thank you for that feedback this is something I will keep in mind in the future! Goodluck to the top 15 mixes!

Thanks @JeroenZuiderwijk for all the time you passed to analyse all the mixes, and your precious feedback ;).
I didn't check the phase issue of the guitars. I'm no used to work with a lot of guitar tracks. I will look after this to understand this problem for future mixes.

Thanks again @Mister Fox for the organisation of the mix contests !

And good luck for the participants of the round 2 !

See ya in a future challenge :)

@JeroenZuiderwijk, thanks to have chosen my mix for the round 2, some mixes are really good and it must have been a hard task to select only 15 (at this point, it's only a matter of tastes).
And a great thank you to have given a feedback to the 110 participants, it's amazing!

Here is my entry for the round 2 : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rtpiuB ... drive_link
Great sounding mix. There is energy, there is grit, the vocal sits good in the mix, I like the sound of the drums…raw but controlled. The cymbals do overshadow the outro a bit. Some hpf there could help.

What I have done:
- Overhead track: dynamic Eq (high shelf compression)
- Parallel drums 1176 compressor: high shelf attenuation before compression
- Mix bus: a little high shelf boost after the SSL bus comp with a Baxandall Eq to keep the R1 general tone

The cymbals are more under control, still hitting hard but more tamed. :tu:
