A few word about this month's theme:
Staff (Mister Fox) wrote:This month's theme is "Fête de la Musique" (French for "Festival of Music").

This month is all in the sign of "celebrating" - the Mix Challenge itself has it's 4th anniversary, it's the meteorological start of Summer in the northern hemisphere, the season of "open air" and "street music". In fact, the "Make Music Day" is on 21st June - which is also known as the date the "Fête de la Musique" first originated

The rule is, that there are no rules. You can write a Rondo, you can write a metal hymn, your can sing in your native tongue while recording yourself playing in your backyard with just a guitar, you can mash up genres a fellow musician you'd have never thought to collaborate. It doesn't matter.

This month is all about making and celebrating music. So please spread the word

Songwriting Add-On Rules:
  • You can use whatever is at your disposal (samples, virtual instruments and/or real instruments)
  • creating your own sounds is highly encouraged, but not mandatory
  • It is recommended to not go higher than -14LUFS SLk (avg) or K-12v1 (avg) in terms of perceived loudness

Please take note of the official rules - they can be found at the following thread:

It is the 25th June 2018, 1:05am GMT+2/CEST - this month's Songwriting Competition has official ended

For the first time in the history of the Songwriting Competition, we have no participants.
This is a little bit sobering, to say the least.

I'd love to gather feedback on the reason for this - please join the conversation in the General Gossip Thread
http://mix-challenge.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97

Thank you

The next Songwriting Competition (SWC11) will start on 1st July 2018.
