it's been a long time since I participated.. And this is my first submission in this new standalone official web (congratz by the way)

I uploaded it in last hour before the end of submission.. So I just put the link here without any explanation about mixing details. I'll do it later..

Here is my submission
Details :

First I balancing all tracks in reaper as my main daw. I didn't using all available track especially in guitar track.
After get the good balanced mix, in masterbus I only using tb reelbus and vari mu to get my sound.
DRUMS:
I only using sampled kick, but for snare I mix all track (sampled, top, bot) together using MJUC for glue. Others I only using essential eq and comp.
In drum bus I using tape ampex and compressed it again with rencomp (I love this comp for drum)
BASS :
For DI, I reamping it to bassman
For amped bass, renbass, pultec, and la2a
I mix it together and summing in RN 88
GUITAR
No special treatment but many automation to get the track mor "life" because this is the star in mix. All balanced guitar track going to tube/valve pre to refinement
REVERB :
only using valhalla vintage verb

That's all

Booooooy, this is fun! :hyper:

Thanks Leonardo for this great production and superb recording!

This can only be one thing (in my head at least): With one hand you are driving your Dodge Charger at top speed, hair blowing in the wind, with the other hand you are fighting evil dragons with your sword, that come out of a thunderstorm... And exactly that is how it should sound.

There are NO dragons used on the MixBuss!

In fact nothing really special is used. I spend about 90% percent of the time balancing and tuning eqs. I also incorporated my "bounty" from the last challenge. VLA-3A is on the Leads and Magnetide (this rocks) is in use on the Piano. Great stuff!

Fav mix is Henrik's one :) actually wanted to do the same thing in intro, but when I heard that he already did it, and was the first one, had to change tactic about intro. It is just a suggestion, so of course it could be just straight one.
Not to bump myself again, but I have to say thanks! Soon, I'll line up all mixes and have a closer listen, including yours, noogard.

Didn´t use any samples, went for mostly raw sound... however, did some subtle automation on guitars and fx, as to create some "movement". Did use the mixed guitar tracks, as well as the ambient ones for some section changes. Reamped the bass DI with Cerberus.

Used Cakewalk´s console emulation and eqs (for notches) and IR verbs, as well as AcusticaAudio plugins... and a bit of hardware for kick&snare, overheads and bass.

Here´s a little light show for you to enjoy! hehe

Good luck to everyone!

Here's my entry.
Tomorrow I'll update with description of the mix process
All mixing process done in Reaper. Every track was grouped in a instrument bus (drums, bass, etc.) and loudness normalisation at 35 LUFS was done so every track will hit analog modelling processors at the right loudness.
On percussions I worked mainly on kick, snare and rooms, to obtain a punchy and natural drums that don't get lost in the mix.
Bass was also an important one, I used low-passed D.I. for tight low end and hi-passed distorted amp for pick/finger attack on the string.
On guitar I did a mix of micked tracks and D.I. with amp simulator (bx_rockrack on 666 model).
I also experimented with a saturation bus that I sent different tracks to gain som harmonic content I felt the mix was a bit missing.
On the master I used the Slam Dawg processor for some more treble shine and punch.
