Hey!

Here is my entry for this months session:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/bltvlwz462p06 ... k.wav?dl=0

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ayg35eufdzf9 ... k.mp3?dl=0

Drums: Put them in phase, added some samples for missing parts of the signal, which I could not gain through eq, compression or transient designing e.g. some punch in the kick, some length and room in the snare, used compression and eq to put it together, verbs are kush gold-plate and waves abbey road chamber.

Bass: Reamped the bass using some plugins to give it some extra grit and texture.

Guitars: 1 and 2 stayed as they were and just got some eq, 3 & 4 were reamped and EQ`d.

Vocals: got EQ, compression, deessing, widening, saturation, reverb, delay (mainly Valhalla room and echoboy), Backings got CLA Vocals.

Mixed into my Twobus Chain with compression, EQ, saturation, widening, clipping and limiting, normalized it down to -18dbfs to match the guidelines.

Good luck to everyone else! :)

Cheers, Phil

Technically nobody can even download your content (check the link).
Please update your post - but no more free passes.

I think I'll introduce the "warning system" I've been concepting for quite a while now during the next days.

Dear Rahel and the Mix Challenge community,

Please find my submission for MC055:
WAV (for download): https://www.dropbox.com/s/v17vqvrv65zrj ... d.wav?dl=1
MP3 (for reference): https://www.dropbox.com/s/7wxp82z6a1nwu ... d.mp3?dl=1

Some notes: The drum bleed was getting in my way, and since samples are not allowed, I reshaped them with a noise gate and transient shaper. I compressed the drum buss in parallel, and added a bit of reverb. Probably over-processed, but it is what it is. For the bass, I used the DI track with a bit of compression, some saturation, and a touch of reverb. Also went through and cleaned up all of the annoying string noise and pops. For the guitars, I only used the amped tracks with some added saturation. I also used a phase shifter with some panning effects. Nothing much on the vocals. The lead has compression, a little saturation, and a little de-ess with a hint of reverb. LVox_B got a little extra delay for drama. All of the busses were hit with NLS Channel for color. I applied the "rear buss" technique to fill in some gaps. Then the whole thing went through an EQ to guide the overall curve, and was hit by a really light compressor to catch a few peaks.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions/ comments/ or concerns. Thanks for listening.

Best regards,
Jeff

Hi Mix Challenge fellow!

This is my first post and mix submission here. Hope i respected all the rules of the challenge!
Wav:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cot787zwfxjgp ... o.wav?dl=0

MP3:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/etafui09lk9o0 ... o.mp3?dl=0

The only thing i do out of rules is a little bit of two bus processing :bang: If it matters i will update soon the file without two bus processing

Bests

Hi,
Here is my mix.
Wav:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/db4zs9nlabgs2 ... l.wav?dl=0

Mp3:

Each track was first cleaned in the daw (frequencies), returned to the table, equalized and re-recorded without compression. (direct out)
The bass is passed in a mark Bass.
The lead voice in an AD2020 and compressed in a TLA-100A.
I made 1 drum bus, 1 bass, 1 for all the guitars, one for the lead and one for the choruses.
Each bus is 1 DB upward compressed.
All buses are sent to a distortion.
There is a sidechain between the bass and the kick, and one between the lead and the guitars.

There is a reverb for the drums, one for the lead, one for the choruses, one for the saturated guitar and a glue.
Everything is sent back to the desk for an analog summing.
No effect on the bus master.

Here is also the mastered track

Hello everyone, my mix

WAV: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1QtmhR ... pAHK3zagpI

MP3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1KAsRx ... 8_6mXuXAO0

This time it was a style I'm more used to, but I've had more work to achieve the goal.

I processed the battery before the mix itself, with enough SPL TransientDesigner and SPL Twin Tube to add impact and slight distortion.

All tracks had heavy equalization and compression, drums also had enough gate. All this processing was done with SSL Duende Native Channel.

Bass I just used the DI track. I did not perform reamp on guitars.

There were some Relab LX480 reverbs and 3 delays PSP 42

On the bus out I used SSL Duende Bus Compressor with 3-6 GR and Slate VTM pretty much all the time in red.
