Hey guys,
Firstly, apologies for only replying now. Thanks for your interest in the track and taking the time to submit your mix. At the moment I only have ear buds and listening on a laptop but I will give every submission a proper listen later in my studio. So far I like what I hear and I will reply to each submission later.

Declan.

Hey guys!
I'm glad to participate in this challenge :)
In my mix I used basically Dynamic Eq's, in order to preserve the nature of the song; parallel compressors (2a, 160, 76) for the same purpose, and reverberations of different plans. (Of course this is not all)

A hello to the new members of this community - could you please(!) get acquainted with the "Rules and Guidelines" and update your posts with further info (no mix resubmission, please)?

Thank you.

Alrighty, here is my submission.

mp3: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqpB-RLndYJriZtQiOD6Ly187zQ9Mw
wav: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqpB-RLndYJriZtRtDn0hxP01Unxyg

Loads of eq work to try and get the backing vocals to fit with the strings including some dynamic eq. Also quite a bit of automation on the strings and backing vocals to make them sound more real. I added breath spaces in the backing vocals and tremolo to the strings, both of which I tried to vary and not overdue so they didn't sound fake. I also delayed the acoustic guitar hits during some parts to try and make them more dramatic other than that I tried to stay close to the spirit of the original. There was also quite a bit of work in the panning and making some of the tracks sound wider. Lots of work went into making the track sound modern and not to muddy.

Only master bus processing is a tiny bit of glue compression, about 1db of reduction at its peak.

Hopefully it came out to everyone's satisfaction. That last guitar chord was tricky.

BTW, thanks 3ee for the kind words on the last mix.

There is 100% male vocal in the "Female Choir" track from 2:31 to 2:41. Is that intentional or was it a stem-out error? Mix as-is or mute it out?

Could be a render error - but I think now it's too late to fix anyway. Mix as-is I'd say. But ultimately dego has the final word

Noticed the same thing, was going to pitch shift that entire track but noticed that doesn't seem to be allowed in the rules.

The demo mix doesn't have Soprano (high register) singing voices in this particular part. So "pitching" would have indeed be wrong. Listen to the demo mix, then go with your gut instincts.

This was an oversight on my part so you can mute it out.
