Hi,

1) Here’s my entry named “Five in the Chamber“ (Rev4 final): :phones:
http://tinkerstate.com/mix-challenge/SW ... hamber.wav

List of Rev4 changes:
  • Slightly randomized note timings and velocities on the piano;
  • Auto-generated pitch-bend events per note for bowed string instruments;
  • Slightly randomized note timings and pitch-bend events for bowed instruments;
  • Made some Mid/Side EQ adjustments in order to tame low-mid build-up.
The slight randomizations made things a tad more "humanized" and the overall soundscape is now clearer I think.

2) Documentation for prior revisions below (click on "SHOW" to expand): :educate:

:arrow_right: A friendly reminder:
Including today, 14 days left to submit your production.

So far, we have 03 entries, and some feedback for the "work in progress" material.

If you want to access the extended game mechanics of the Songwriting Competition (asking for feedback during production), please try to release your first edits within the next 7 days to have enough time to get possible feedback (if needed/wanted) and continue to work on your song.

To those sitting on the fence - please don't feel scared off and think "the bar is set too high, I will never make it" - set yourself a shorter private deadline. Just make music, submit your entry, join the conversation. See where this goes.

By joining, you're already a winner. The rest is bonus. :tu:

...ended up in electro-pop boom chaak.
Hey, nice track but for some reason sounds over-the-top distorted on my system, wondering whether you were going for heavy distortion intentionally or whether it might be some kind of technical fluke?
Thanks, some of it is on purpose and some of it is me trying to reach the specs for the contest, the right panned lead synth sound less harsh in the original.

Thank you for listening :tu:
Hey, in case you do want assistance with your mix, I would gladly help mix your track! You'll then be able to compare the two mixes and pick which mix you want to submit as your final revision.

Hello everyone,
here is my entry for the contest:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xILdCK ... sp=sharing

The chord progression is great! After the first listen I thought I couldn't do it, but the longer I spent on the project the more I started to like it.
I created the track in FL Studio, imported MIDI. The first thing I did was the pads (I always start with that). Then the bass line, then the main lead motif. I used virtual instruments such as Spire, Vital, Synth1. Samples as usual in trance 909, a strong kick and some effects. The percussion elements are samples, the rest of the tracks are VSTi.
I try to use sends to mixer channels for delay and reverb.

Enjoy!

Excellent banger to listen to with morning coffee, also the mix job on this one sounds like a finished product! :tu: The only thing I would do is double-check the LUFS specs according to ze rulez for SWC: "must not exceed -14,0 LUFS ILk max and -1,0 dBTP max" :wink:

Hi folks,

for my track I used the Full-Chord-Pattern MIDI.

Update / Addendum:
I did two additional versions (not to be considered for this competition) -- just for the fun of it. The 'rules' therefore are less obeyed. :wink:
Another instrumental one -- https://soundcloud.com/api_zz/sixteen2
and one with vocals -- https://soundcloud.com/api_zz/sixteen-vox

I was surprised that you were able to create such a grand and cinematic arrangement.
You're amazing. That's amazing.

I think it's amazing how you can extend the length of a trance arrangement and create such a grandiose song.

One more thing - you might also want to edit your original post and update the link in there as well, in order to make sure the staff picks up the compliant version :hihi:
