Did you try in another browser maybe (I tried an old version of Google Chrome and a the most recent FireFox beta version)?
Seems to be something with my laptop and winrar, I tried extrating the files after downloading them with my other pc and the same error showed up but after extracting the files before trying to copy them it worked. :headscratch:
Sorry if I scared you! :hihi: , I´ll try to make the best mix possible on these last days.

I do recommend 7zip at this point. It's free, available in portable form and has no issues with LZMA compressed files (WinRAR gets the occasional hiccup with these).

Other than that, looking forward to your mix.
Still a bit more than 4 days left. :tu:

Here´s my entry.
I think the final mix doesn´t sound very different to the original mix in general, just minor tweaks on the drums and bass parts and different automation, I didn´t want to overproduce the track so I kept it simple. Hope you guys like it! :tu:

MP3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t4vpw06noaaam ... x.mp3?dl=0

WAV: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yla5mxs2qb31m ... x.wav?dl=0

Edit:
Okay, here are some snapshots of the project.

And the fx chain of each track.

Bass: Eq notch filter at 230hz and boost at around 100hz, Chorus, automated lowpass filter.
Kick: Bit reduction with automated low pass filter , Eq notch filter at 900hz
Snare: Transient shaper, vintage compressor and Eq
Drum top 1 and 2: Hp filter and S.LA.X compressor
Beatbox: Hp filer and compression
Ride: Hp filter, delay and reverb
Chimes: Ring modulation, HP filter and compression for some random transients. I automated the panning hard left and hard right for each hit and automated the frequency of the ring modulation. Reverb send.
Fx noise: Envelope filter, HP filter, Chorus and Reverb. Delay send at 1/2 sync, also I just noticed that I was also sending to a reverb bus and that the delay bus was also sending to that reverb bus so yeah, that´s a lot of reverb.
Fx pulse: delay
Mid pad: Hp filter and chorus
Mid synth: Hp filter, Lo-Fi drive/bit reduction, S.LA.X compressor and reverb
Vox1: Hp filter, compression and distortion. Vox Reverb send
Vox2: Band pass filter from 400hz to 4Khz, compression and vpx reverb send.
Both tracks had panning modulation so the signal goes from one speaker to the other mid sentence.

Hello MrFox, Adam, hi everybody!

Nice to change styles, interesting!

I played a lot with the bass, maybe too much for the provider's taste, but to me it helped to add interest to the track.

EQ, compressions, reverbs and delays involved, I sticked to the simplest path possible so no plugin overdose. Ask if you want more details, that's the point here.

See you soon,
Kevin.

Hi,

here's my take on it. When you mentioned Rob Acid (Babicz) in the description I knew, I just wanted to elevate it in a "crispy" way :)

Hi,

Here's my entry. I'm quite illiterate on the genre, so I paid attention to the rough and try to make everything bigger. I added some creative stuff, also following the structure of the rough. I went for a very punchy and bass heavy kind of mix, and in doubt I pushed a little harder.

I actually took the opportunity to try out stuff and new plugins, quite liked the result and ended up enjoying it more than I expected. Thanks Adam for the tracks!
:tu:

I used a lot of XLN audio's RC-20 since it gives a lot of different possibilities (6 modules: Noise, wobble, distortion, bit crushing, reverb and magnetic tape) and it's really good for transitions. The one at the intro and halfway in the song are done with it. On top of that, every module has a control that basically randomizes its parameters, which I used subtly on the bass.

At 3:35 there's another transition made by automating a send from the drums to a parallel track with a filter sweep and RC-20 randomly bitcrushing it.

Kick: MB Compression, clipping and Pultec Eq. Tried to make it as punchy and heavy as possible.

Bass: Elysia nvelope (some sort of a frequency-dependent transient designer) to remove some attack around 500Hz and add a little sustain on the 200Hz range. RC-20 adding distortion, randomized bitcrushing and a little space. Eq, compression and tape emulation. There's an automated send to a secondary track that uses crystalizer, little alterboy and echoboy and comes up every 4 or 8 bars, depending of the section of the song.

Key mid Pad: It goes to an aux that has Primal Tap and BackMask (an obscure reverse plugin) to create movement.

Mid Synth: Elysia nvelope again to accentuate the attack of the synth. Crystalizer to add a minor third (almost imperceptible, 3% wet) and combined with Primal Tap to create depth. IK Multimedia classic compressor to accentuate the attack even more and add width.

Voices: I tried to create a weird ambience for them. Tried to give it movement and a little randomness, so I used Primal tap, crystalizer and again BackMask in very little doses.

There's plenty of stuff on the mix bus, but none of it is working very hard: Eq, Bus comp, MB comp and 2 plugins to give some overall color and character: Virtual Tape Machines and Abbey Road Vinyl. Also an stereo image to Narrow the lower frequencies to mono.

Hey guys. I've never done one of the contests before and I'm new to mixing. I tried to stay relatively true to the reference mix.

Some of the stuff I did was use a reverse reverb, sweep band pass filters on the noise, tried compression on the snare but I'm not happy with how it came out which I tried to fix by using a high shelf cut. I change the bass by adding some distortion in some frequency bands. Then lots of the obvious stuff like reverb on the synth parts, delays on the vocal stabs, compression and eq here and there.

UPDATE:

Made bass with 3 times duplicate the original track and lowpass 1st, widening 2nd and automated with ShaperBox additional track which remind the original bass. Cut harsh freqs on percussion loops and so on. Nothing special really, but made more deeper sound opposite the original source)
