From Japan.
The submission deadline has passed, but I'm satisfied with just asking everyone, please listen.

According to the lead guitar, the side guitar adjusts the volume with fader automation.
Because the recorded sound source of the drum was very good, I adjusted the low range somewhat with the equalizer and performed the compressor processing. Overhead is a transient shaper to adjust cymbal sustain.
The sound of the room microphone is added as an ambience cut short at the gate according to the trigger of the snare drum.
The bass guitar distorts the line recording slightly distortion.

There are NO dragons used on the MixBuss!
I missed a little glue or... f-fire? Whatever, awesome job as usual. I've gotta remind myself next time to submit my mix after I can reference it against yours.
No seriously, I figured what was wrong with my mix just like that.
Thats how it usually works, mate
Not against a bad mix.

To me everything's great except for the drums. Are you using a gate on the snare? It is very apparent how the leaked cymbals come through.

Thank you for listening.
More motivated. Thank you very much.
The sound of the drum may have become too old-fashioned. It is a future task.
The sound source included the sound of the sampler 's snare drum and kick drum, but I did not use it.
Through the gate to "DrRoom.wav", the gate is opened by the side chain with the snare drum channel.
The release time of the gate is 480 milliseconds.
"OHs.wav" and "Room.wav" are blended to the extent that there is no discomfort in the cymbal localization.

Thanks a lot, glad you like it!
I‘ve been there a lot, where you tweak and fiddle until you‘re happy, then pull up a reference mix and it‘s just like „
REALLY? How did THAT happen?“.
The good thing is that you don‘t have to wait for my shabby stuff to turn up (I am almost always late anyways), but there are a lot of really great mixes out there! Just pick a good reference and really use it. Actually that helped me with a few decisions in this one.
I am sure you do use references, I just want to underline what a great tool it can be to not lose track.
Cheers
Mork

Would it be possible to get a post with all the entries in a single list? It would make reviewing the mixes easier. You could even make them anonymous for a little mystery.

Download all and use a plugin to compare them. Reference is good. MCompare too. Extremely usefull for mixing as well.

Or use something like normalize if you’re on Linux
Just did that, put everything into a foobar2000 playlist, randomized it and disabled anything that indicated filenames for a blind test. Really fascinating to hear how different the same material comes out… just listen to all those snare and kick sounds!
(And it just dawned on me that mix is quite a bit too warm and mushy, and muddy in the low end… well, lesson learned
)
