Mix Challenge

It's the 31st December 2020, 1:05 (UTC+2) - the 2nd Mix Round has officially ended.

Everyone has sent in an edit.
We have no submissions after the deadline.

Please check your upload links again, and have an eye on this thread for the final feedback and results.
Since this is the end of the year (we're still in the holiday season), please give the song provider a couple of days to work through the material.



I'm now opening up the room (again) for Q&A's and giving each other feedback (which is highly encouraged)

Hello and happy new year to everyone.

Friends, you have made it very difficult for me as all the R2 mixes have been really good.

Thanks to all the participants because all of you have interpreted and implemented the suggestions given in R1 in a magnificent way. All tracks could be ranked 1, 2, or 3.

Now it is only a matter of feelings and not technique since all the tracks have an ideal balance.

Unfortunately only 3 can access the podium so, after much thought,
the winners are:

If one company has been selected, it's not available for the rest of the podium anymore.

The Mix(ing) Challenge is on it's annual 1-month vacation and will continue in February 2021. Please don't forget the Songwriting Competition - which needs as much love as the Mix(ing) Challenge.

I updated my version in #190.
to those who are interested in my kick treatment, I added a diagram for a free 4-band limiter with very steep separation. it changed the sound remarkably.
now you have also a loud and rocking radio version, while the winners to me appear like good album versions.

Hi! Just wanna say firstly that it's "her" price I've sent the message to the moderator about the plugins - should I do anything else? I don't want to hold you up.

The only thing that was important still, is mentioning the company selected.

Christoph_K went with NOS Audio, you went with Hornet Plugins, Photonic can still select something from the companies that are left.
