Man, I feel for you. I've listened to at least half of the mixes and it's really brutal trying to keep your ears fresh. By about mix 6 or so, I can't tell what's up or down without taking a longish break and resetting with some references. I can't imagine grinding through all 71.

Oh man, that's a lot of work. Thanks for letting us see your process / setup. Just out of curiosity, are you using any LUFS matching tools like MCompare or MtM Reference?

No, just every track has an instance of Youlean -> Fader move. Pretty fast.

About 6-10 tracks a day yes ! So you've got to wait a bit. I am constantly referencing to my mix, it is not the best, but I need a starting point.
The markers are useful to compare small sections fast. My keyboard is only used for writing, the Faderport to switch between sections and tracks fast.
The only limit is my ears... Listening at a very low volume (my tiny Focal are good for that, no need to push it at all)
I am listening to my subwoofer only when needed, bc I have a footswitch on my desk :hmmm:, doesn't smell bad because it has never touched the ground.

I do like the looks of this!

(EDIT: Also nice Focals, Faderport and UAD Apollo - just as a sidenote :tu: )

To download the files were a real P I T A.

PLEASE GUYS, EVEN IF YOU DON T WANT TO FOLLOW STRICTLY THE INSTRUCTIONS, PLEASE GIVE YOUR NAME TO THE FILES, NOT ONLY THE TITLE OF THE SONG. I KNOW IT PRETTY WELL ALREADY. AND PLEASE ONLY THE NAME OF YOUR MIX CHALLENGE ACCOUNT. DON’T HAVE A MINUTE TO WASTE TO CHECK WHO’S WHO !!!!! HORRIBLY PAINFULL.

Let me point out what has been written on every first post on page 1:
⚠ Moderation Message from Mister Fox
  • IMPORTANT: please use the following naming convention:
    MC000_-_ArtistName_-_TrackName_-_ContestanttName.wav/mp3 and
    MC000_-_ArtistName_-_TrackName_-_ContestanttName_R2.wav/mp3 for Mix Round 2.
I'm stating an official warning right now.

We have a lot of new participants. So you're having a free pass. But(!), if you've been with the Mix(ing) Challenge for longer than two months, and still don't stick to what's written in both of the rule set and on the two initial posts, you're risking a straight up disqualification.

We do have rules for a reason. So please stick to them!
