Thank you for handling the evaluation, David.

Ladies and gentlemen, let us kick off Mix Round 2, which will end on Monday, 30-SEP-2019 11:59pm GMT+2/CEST

There is a GLOBAL COUNTDOWN available to check for deadlines.
Just follow this link: Global Countdown (on homepage)

The following 10+1 participants go into Round 2 (alphabetical order)

Coiled_Ear
Green-Dog
jeffssoloband
MattRocket
Mork
Olli H
paperthin
PeterM
shroom feverish
VasDim

Wildcard-Entry:

maxovrdrive

The feedback to the productions can be found here:

I am adding maxovrdrive to the Round 2 participants. The client seemed to have a liking in the entry, and not submitting a MP3 in the initial round is not technically a rule violations. However, if all participants could provide a MP3 file on top as reference/quick listening, that would be greatly appreciated.

If you are unsure what to do exactly with your mix, reach out to the song provider and engage in a conversation here on the forum.

A thank you to everyone, and good luck for Round 2

Winners circle R1:

I will give a second listen and critique for these mixes by Tuesday Sept 25, my apologies as life has many responsibilities.
So...will there any further crituque from you or we just should using those impressions that you've described in the long list?

Here is my submission for round 2:

Thanks for the feedback! I totally agree that the drums distracted too much attention from the guitars. I once again listened to The Traveling Wilbury's and heard the difference. I tried to improve that (ratio between drums and guitars) in this new mix. I hope you like it! Thank you for mixing this track. I have learned a lot from it.

I thought the keyboards make the whole thing totally break away from The Traveling Wilbury's, so I just don't like the whole approach and did something very different.
But seems David will get a bunch of excellent mixes that meet expectations.

Thank you Mister Fox for including me as a wildcard-entry into round 2.

I apologize to our client David for not providing a mp3 file for his initial evaluation. I completely understand and agree with his statement regarding - "my experience and opinion, prob not a good idea to hassle the client because of the way they chose to view the product."

Here is my R2 submission keeping in mind the initial evaluation by David.

Alrighty, here's my entry for R2:

WAV: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9uo8jctvemb08 ... 2.wav?dl=0

MP3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mjn3ho6rawq9a ... 2.mp3?dl=0

This new version sounds to me a lot cleaner and warmer, the feedback and references definitely helped. The whole track was rebalanced, a lot of harshness taken out, and some automation used to create interest and dynamic variation between sections. Thanks David, and good luck everyone!
