SONGWRITING THEME: Spring

GENRE: free for all

A few word about this month's theme:
Staff (Mister Fox) wrote:This month we're celebrating "The Start of Spring". All negatives aside (like allergies, and part of the globe still observing winter), no more snow, finally more hours of sun and beautiful colors everywhere. So why not turn this uplifting feeling into music?

Create a production in whatever genre you feel like. Maybe even turn your usual work on it's head and go a complete different direction you'd usually go for. But most important - be creative and have fun!

Songwriting Add-On Rules:
  • You can use whatever is at your disposal (samples, virtual instruments and/or real instruments)
  • creating your own sounds is highly encouraged, but not mandatory
  • It is recommended to not go higher than -14LUFS SLk (avg) or K-12v1 (avg) in terms of perceived loudness

Please take note of the official rules - they can be found at the following thread:
Songwriting Competition - Official Rules and Guidelines

Please address any OT question in the official Gossip thread:

Right, here we are then. Some slightly weirdy indie/folky (3/4, 6/8?) ditty about how spring isn't all it's cracked up to be (inspired it must be said, by the rather unseasonal shite weather we had in the UK). Perhaps a few nods to to The Smiths.. :hihi: I bought a new 12 string acoustic - you can probably tell in some of the choruses  . Probably should have changed the strings on the 6 string mind, but hey ho....

http://www.bennyleeds7.myfreeola.uk/swc ... st-day.mp3

Instruments used;

Epiphone acoustic guitar
Gear4music 12 string acoustic guitar
Line 6 Variax electric guitar
Amplesound AG12S
NI Electric Sunburst
Some random FL hi-hat and cymbal
Kick from NI Abbey Road Vintage kit
Guitar slap noise from Amplesound AGT
Some crooning miserbalism - special mention for 'OldComms', by Evil Turtle Productons effect for the middle bit - bloody marvellous effect.

I kind of want to push the rule set a bit more from this month forward. So could you please add the proper tags/documentation just like on KVR Audio?

Thanks

This is really cool man. Lot's of clever twists and turns and an unexpected/welcome departure from the implied intro. Love it.

Cheers! Started to really get back into acoustic playing after a long time of only doing bits for backing/rhythm etc. It's just as hard as I remember, and of course without amps/effects etc there's no hiding place for shite technique - as you can hear in this! :hihi: I've written this nice picking thing as well...but am really struggling to play and record it properly - I know where I want the damn fingers to go, but they're refusing to play along  I'll keep practicing...
