Mix Challenge

I would appreciate some feedback as well, both from the SP and anyone else. It's all good

I thought I nailed this one. My worry was that because I don't speak Portuguese that I wouldn't get the enunciation and the nuances of the language. Was that an issue in my mix?

Thank you so much for choosing my mix for the second round!

I knew that my processing of the male voice was a risky thing and would probably not fit your taste. But it was easy to reduce or remove. It was not a harmonizer. I doubled the track and changed timing, pitch and formants to produce two additional fake recordings of the male voice. I reduced the volume of those doubled tracks so that they are barely effective anymore. And I changed the EQ of the solo guitar to reduce low end and high end. Listerning to my mix after a while I can fully agree with your comment, to correct this solo track.

Thank you for the wildcard but I won‘t take part in round 2.
The reason for all this is that I PMed Alexandre about some feedback. He replied and told me what happened and that’s ok. I don‘t want to „nag“ my way into round 2 and think it‘s weird if I enter it now. We are still making music here, it’s all about the happy and unhappy mistakes (that’s what I told Alexandre too). I may post an updated version when round 2 is over, but since my new speakers didn’t arrive today (which they should have) I am kind of angry and probably just binge watch Breaking Bad until I am calm again

I agree with Alexander comment and all what I done it's cleaning up low mid range, cut out resonances in individual instruments, aded tape soturation on the master track for glue all the track a little bit more tugether.

I worked on the panning of the acoustic guitars, the drums and also the cello and violas, so they'd leave more breath for the vocals and present a wider stereo image. Additionally I had the string synth sidechained by the lead vocal. I did this with the help of "Laser", a 3 band levelling plugin that was very helpful in this case. I did not change anything else, such as levels of instruments as you seemed to like my mix in general...hope you still like it :-)

First of all thanks a lot for selecting my mix and please never ever stop doing these kind of challenges as it really helps us to know our weak points.
Best part is we get to listen to different kinds of mixes by brilliant engineers from all over the world.

So, for 2nd round I tweaked the snare a bit so that it blends well and did little de-essing on vocals. As you liked the overall balance, I haven't touched anything else.

Frist of all I want to say two things. Many thanks to the song provider for really listening carefully to all these entries. You are really good listener. Second, I agree with you to all the points you mentioned about my mix. I fix them and I believe it became much better mix. Here is my second version.
