Oh, I suffer from another endocrine disorder: Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency. Luckily there are pills to compensate for the lack of cortisol. (Like if you have Addison's disease.)

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC076 December 2023 - Voting until 03-JAN-2024 23:59 UTC+1/CET

Reflections: I choose to review only seven submissions, as English is not my native language. I haven't learned much this month. My goal is still to create pop- / rock songs that are catchy, without them sounding like a copy of thousands of other songs that have already been made. Originality is re...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC076 December 2023 - Voting until 03-JAN-2024 23:59 UTC+1/CET

My first instinct was that after the G major chord it has to come "home" like the following: - Amin (v) I Dmaj (I) I Gmaj (IV) I Gmin6 (iv ) I Dmaj (I) in another voicing than the one I Dmaj chord before. It is also possible to swap the Gmin6 with a D#dim (or even Dmaj/F#) end the progres...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC076 December 2023 - Voting until 03-JAN-2024 23:59 UTC+1/CET

Very unusual chord progression and melody structure overall ... Thanks. Because I really try to avoid writing songs that are built according to formula 1A. Hopefully it's the chord progression in the first chorus you think of (?) It looks like this: | E minor | B major | E minor, C major | A minor,...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC076 December 2023 - Voting until 03-JAN-2024 23:59 UTC+1/CET

I'm sorry to call your attention like this, Mister Fox , over the weekend, but this is one thing I'm having a hard time trying to push aside: My own song sounds worthless if I plug my headphones directly into the computer's output. Everything else sounds like it should! However, if I use my external...

listened to your entry on headphones (using my laptop's sound card) and through laptop speakers and it sounds fine to me!
Thanks! (But I still wonder about this, I have a quite expensive laptop. But I won't call for admin during Christmas.)

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC076 December 2023 - Voting until 03-JAN-2024 23:59 UTC+1/CET

Hello guys! I just discovered that my submission sounds utterly strange (bad) if I connect my headphones directly to my laptop's output, instead of using the external soundcard the way I usually do. The strange thing is that I listened to four or five of your entries just before, and they sounded pe...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC074 October 2023 - Voting until 01-NOV-2023 23:59 UTC+1/CET

What I learned this month: That Spitfire Audio BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover is a far better plugin than I knew before. And that orchestration is fun (violins, violas, cellos and double basses). But the fact that this is a free version means there are limitations. No velocity sensivity, for examp...

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC074 October 2023 - Submissions until 24-OCT-2023 23:59 UTC+2/CEST

I realized some more reverb was needed. The space in which I right now am does not allow for controll listening, so I took a chance for -36 dB and my usual hall reverb. New update, that is.
