Hello All,

Updated to my final submission. I know that I am exceeding the -14 LUFS, but I could not get the track to meet that level without it just ending up very quiet. In this case, I am willing to accept the point deduction for it.
The lyrics are very tongue-in-cheek 'complaining' about the minor inconveniences in life.

Hello All,

Here is what I have so far. I'm still trying to think of ways to improve it, but I wanted to see what you all thought.

The lyrics are very tongue-in-cheek 'complaining' about the minor inconveniences in life.

Very good so far what I´m hearing. I would raise the vocals a tiny bit and lower the 808 therefore, so your vocals become more "in your face" with that roughness in your voice. I can't understand every word you are saying, it would be nice if you could provide the lyrics. Your rap part will also become more coherent with the hook, which I find remarkably much more up front.
I like the tone of your voice here and I didn't expect such a tight flow! :phones:
Maybe you could spice up the arrangement a little bit with drops and mutes or something to emphasise certain words?

Thanks for the feedback The Exponent and Mellow Browne. I changed my original post to add the lyrics and update the song in the link. I didn't feel like I needed to do anything drastic so the changes are pretty minor but hopefully, they help make the vocals a bit clearer in the mix.

A friendly reminder:
Including today, 7 days left to submit your production.

So far, we have 1 entry -- with some interaction, and with 1 additional track in production.

If you want to access the extended game mechanics of the Songwriting Competition (asking for feedback during production), please try to release your first edits within the next 3 days to have enough time to get possible feedback (if needed/wanted) and continue to work on your song. Please also remember, vocals are not mandatory -- instrumentals are just as welcome.

And to those sitting on the fence - please don't feel scared off and think "the bar is set too high, I will never make it" - set yourself a shorter private deadline. Just make music, submit your entry, join the conversation. See where this goes.

By joining, you're already a winner. The rest is bonus. :tu:

Hi all,
This is the music I wrote for SWC066. It is not finished yet...by far. I'm working on the vocals (I really want vocals to be part of it but I'm not a rap artist.....but I've already wrote the lyrics....a couple of versions already). I'm used to writing songs on guitar with intro, verse, chorus etc. So I decided to go for that approach to see if that would work for me. Here is a first (actualy 100th ;-) ) draft (this is NOT the final entry link, that one is in my last post)

https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ahp8xH6KRIfbgTUxADw ... 6?e=hr5mak (music starts at around 7 sec...sorry, forgot to cut the silence before the intro...I'll fix that later on.)

Hey Jeroen,

this is a cool WIP, it has a bit from both worlds, Trap and Crunk. I'm really curious to hear the final version with the lyrics. This goes in a good direction from what I can hear.
Maybe you could sidechain your kick from the 808 bass to get more clarity in the low end? Oh, and don't forget to lower the volume of the stab hits and the vocal samples, they are pretty loud compared to the rest.

I hope I can finish my project within the next two days.
