I'm sure @BenjiRage can go into way more detail.

However, please do consult tue bundled TXTs, especially the "Words by the Song Provider" one for additional information
Oh, you're right, the txt details the process. Thanks!

I have another question, why have you, and being a drummer, put the hi hat on the right side? It seems strange to me. I like to mix the drums from the drummer's perspective.

Like Phil Collins, I'm a left-handed drummer

I have made this mix with a hybrid setup

I have used pro tools 12.5 HD as software, with an eq FAB FILTER PRO Q3 in all channels for HPF and cut resonance, and a compressor cla-3a in toms, guitar group and backing vocals.
Pre Printing Chanel (with the return of master channel SSL B6), SD FG-RED compressor, WAVES C4 compressor.

Then i have used a SSL BIG SIX console for final mixing whith this config:
Channel 1: Kick: DBX 266XL compresor insert and eq +2db 3.5 Khz +1 80 Hz
Channel 2: Snare Group: DBX 266XL compresor insert with channel comp in, and eq +2db 3.5 Khz. Cue send to Lexicon MX200 Gate and Room Reverb and Alesis Midiverb4 Vintage Plate Reverb
Channel 3: Bass group: Behringer TUBE COMPÒSER insert, wiht channel comp in, and eq +1db 3.5 Khz +1 80 Hz
Channel 4: Vocals: Behringer TUBE COMPÒSER insert, wiht channel comp in, and eq +1db 3.5 Khz -1db 800 hz, Cue send to Alesis Midiverb4 Vintage Plate Reverb
Channel 5+6: OH+Cymbals+TOMS+ROOM group: eq +2db 3.5 Khz. Cue send to Lexicon MX200 Gate and Room Reverb and Alesis Midiverb4 Vintage Plate Reverb
Channel 7+8: Guitars Group: eq +1db 3.5 Khz.
Channel 9+10: Synths Group: eq +3db 3.5 Khz, Cue send to Alesis Midiverb4 Vintage Plate Reverb
Channel 11+12: Backing Vocals Group: eq +1db 3.5 Khz -1db 800 hz, Cue send to Alesis Midiverb4 Vintage Plate Reverb
Channel 13+14: FX returns
Channel 15+16: PT OUT

KICK: VCC CHANNEL, F-5 HF 7.5 +14DB 387HZ -15DB, CS LIFT PRESENT 7.5, PUNCHY 8.5, FG 401 SLOW ATTACK FAST RELEASE 3 TO 5 DB OF COMPRESSION, but the kick was missing something, not being able to reinforce it with a sample, I chose to make a match eq to a sample I had around and make the kick sound as similar as possible to that sample.
SNARE: I SENT BOTH TO A BUS TO PROCESS THEM TOGETHER, VTM, VCC CHANNEL, HF 5.7 7DB COMPRESSION SIMILAR TO THE KICK, I ALSO DID SOME TWEAKS WITH THE SC LIFT.
TOMS: SAME PROCESSING AS KICK BUT A LITTLE LESS AGGRESSIVE
CYMBALS: VCC CHANNEL, CS LIFT TO WHAT THE KNOBS GAVE ME AND TRIMMING THE LOW END.
OH AND ROOM: SAME AS SYMBALS BUT WITHOUT CLIPPING THE LOW END
BASS: ONE TRACK WITH THE BASS AMP, AND THE DI I PUT IT IN 2 TRACKS, I LEFT ONLY THE LOW ZONE OF THE BASS AMP, THE BASS DI I LEFT ONLY FROM 200HZ ONWARDS AND THE COPY OF THE BASS DI I STRONGLY DISTORTED IT, THEN I MIXED THE 3 SIGNALS COMPRESSED WITH A LA3A BETWEEN 7 TO 10DB THEN I EQUALIZED BY EAR UNTIL I LEFT IT ACCORDING TO MY CRITERIA AS CLOSE TO THE BASS OF THE REFERENCE TRACK I CHOSE FOR THE SOUND OF THIS INSTRUMENT, STRONGLY INCREASING THE HIGH AND MIDDLE ZONE.
GUITARS: I EQUALIZED THEM TO LEAVE THE BASS AND THE TREBLE AT THE SAME LEVEL, AND 1 TO 3 DB OF COMPRESSION, I LEFT THEM AS FLAT AS POSSIBLE, THEN I MADE A HOLE AT 360HZ.
LEAD VOX: VCC CHANNEL, HF 7.5HZ -3DB, CS LIFT PRESENT AND PUNCHY AT 8, 1176 RELEASE 7 ATTACK 5 OVER 10DB OF COMPRESSION, THEN I USED CLA VOCALS JUST FOR THE EFFECTS, TIGHT, QUARTER AND STEREO, WHICH IS WHAT I SAW CLA USE IN A MIX OF I DON'T REMEMBER WHO,
VOCAL HARMONIES, I DIDN'T TOUCH THEM, JUST TIGHT COMPRESSION AND EFFECTS.
ON THE STRINGS I AUTOMATED A PARALLEL COMPRESSION FOR THE KICK AND SNARE, I ALSO USED A REVERB ROOM FOR THE KIT AND A PLATE FOR THE SNARE AND TOMS, A REFLECTIVE REVERB FOR THE BASS.
ON THE MIX BUSS I USED A CLA PRESET CONSISTING OF A VCC MIXUSS, CS-EQ 15K +2DB, 400HZ -1.4DB, FG-RED WITH THE CLA ROCK HP PRESET TO WHICH I ADJUSTED THE THRES TO HAVE A COMPRESSION OF ABOUT 3DB AS CLA DOES.
IT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE BEEN SO AGGRESSIVE WITH EQUALIZERS AND COMPRESSORS IN A MIX, AND THE TRUTH IS I WAS SURPRISED HOW FAST ALL THE PIECES CAME TOGETHER, I WANTED TO DO THE MIX THIS WAY JUST BECAUSE OF THE WAY CLA MIXES, I HOPE YOU LIKE IT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING!!!!
ONE MORE THING, EXCEPT FOR THE BASS I USED A GREEN DAY SONG AS REFERENCE FOR THE REST OF THE MIX I DECIDED TO USE HELENA FROM MY CHERMICAL ROMANCE.

I am still at an event, but still a quick reminder:
Including today, 2,5 days left (a bit more than 62 hours) to submit your mix.

As of this moment, we have 23 entries. If you have been sitting on the fence so far, please get your mixes sorted out. And don't forget the updated filename template.
