Finally back in action after some horrific skateboarding injuries at the end of last year. So this is my SWC05 entry for the open mic contest, which is a progressive-rock track named "Exemplar".
Thanks and good luck.

A short update on the license sponsors:

Due to an unexpected occasion, I sadly have to withdraw Impact Soundworks' license donations for the time being. I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience and work on a solution/an alternative ASAP.

Welcome back old faces! I do have to post a complaint about Nige though. He t-bagged me in the off site forum and I didn't think it was appropriate...but he did submit first so I sat there and watched it. Just for the record.

What is this track?
1) It's a bass lead picking through chords thing that I've had on my mind. Originally I did it in D-Tune for that low sadness and it helps my vocals but I couldn't get it in tune. I don't know.
2) Keys are more of Cubase 9 and learning the DAW.
3) Guitars are Cubase 9 VST guitar sounds with my ancient Fender Squier with old strings and no tone.
4) The heavy parts are meant for big drums and an epic finish but I don't possess that ability right now. I can drum but I'm having technical difficulties.
5) I felt it better to submit it as an unfinished concept/idea. This is really how I approach my projects. No, I wouldn't keep the guitar tracks I did but they are a good reference for what I want. I didn't spend a ton of time on vocals because it's an idea.
6) The idea was to have a bass driven rhythm based on chords...and an off-topic vocal story. The rest is for interpretation. I kept it simple just because I'm working through all of the different layers of production. Great practice.

When you get to a point where that's all you have...your done.
