Thank you for selecting my mix Mellow Browne.
This was the first time that I've mixed a trap song, I usually produce and mix other kinds of electronic music.
For the prize I select the Kilohearts Sound Design Playground Bundle.

MIX CHALLENGE - MC101 December 2024 - Winners announced
Re: MIX CHALLENGE - MC101 December 2024 - Winners announced
Hey,
thanks for second place!
I have to say, I'm quite surprised about the feedback regarding the vocal sound. But I know I tend to mix more on the warm side. This is helpful and I will dig into it.
Although feedback like that is the real prize here, I'll take Nugen MasterCheck
Would love to participate more in the general discussions here, but having a one year old son, I just don't have the time.
Regarding only using stock plugins like Mellow talks about - basically I agree, but I think one should know the "tools of the trade" and at least demo the plugins of interest. BUT - and this is the advice I sadly didn't follow myself - do blind A/B or ABX tests. You will know which plugins are the keepers for sure, but for 99.9% all the magic and fairy dust will just go poof. Apart from workflow, blind A/B tests were the reason I got rid of all my hardware (good stuff like WesAudio Prometheus, SSL Six, SSL E Hardware EQ and lots more). All the "spaciousness, extra 3D width, warmth, it's so musical, it never sounds bad"... poof
