Hi there,
here is my mix:

mp3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3totmc5b2mc04 ... o.mp3?dl=0
wav: https://www.dropbox.com/s/han2vx83qfp1k ... o.wav?dl=0

I try to mix sice half a year and I´m very interested in your opinion.
I mixed with Waves-Plugins.

For the Kick and the Snare I used a gate as first plugin and controled it with a duplikated track, that was running
20 ms earlier. This works very good without having so much bleed from the other instruments.

I did very much compression on the vocals (stacked) and also running two times the vocal-rider to even out the
volumes.

So far, best wishes - Sandro

This is a great recording! Here is my mix:

Kick: kick in small boost at 55 Hz, big boost at 4k, Copy of kick in highly saturated, low passed kick out, submix gated reverb
Snare: snare top big cut at 180 Hz, some clipping distortion, snare bottom high passed and automated to duck out during chorus and boost for ghost notes, snare submix gated reverb. Automated gating + saturation boost during chorus
Toms: each tom got a mix of gated oversaturated mixed with natural sound
Drum kit submix: saturation boosted during chorus

Bass: DI lowpassed and highly compressed, amp high and low passed with boost around 1k and a little chorus, extra distortion added during chorus

Guitar 1,2: high passed, low shelving cut, high mid boost. Mix of delays and reverb. Both guitars sent to aux with super high passed chorus effect for some top end sparkle and movement

Guitars 3,4: high passed, low passed, and extra cut at about 4.7k, chorus. Reverb added only at the end of the second chorus going into the bridge

Guitars 5,6: I basically did nothing except a little cut at 220

Vocals: high passed, cut at 300 high shelf slight cut de-essed delays and reverb, copy of track highly saturated mixed in, submix sent to aux high passed, highly compressed and chorus effect for smoothing top end. During chorus I add more delays, chorus and reverb.

Hi there,

here is my mix of the song:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6f4iqa2vqaewu ... e.wav?dl=0 (WAV)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dz618xo7gobzg ... e.mp3?dl=0 (MP3)

I didn’t use any samples on the drums. Sent the kick drum, snare and toms to two quite heavy parallel compression channels to get more punch.
I reamped the chorus guitars (SansAmp) and blended them in with the original sound for more body.

Very nice song, production, and great tracks to work with!

I used NLS Buss on all busses & Master Track. Spike on the busses & Nevo on the master. I also used bx_hybrid V2 (for low & high pass filters, Mono Maker & stereo sweetening) and TB ReelBus v3 on the Master.

I split the LVox to separate tracks for V, C ,& Brdg for individual processing to add interest. My 1st time using Waves Doubler (C & Brdg). I used Tuco & MAutoVolume on the Vox buss to keep the vocal on top & MDynamicEq to shape the vox overall. On the separate LVox channels I used smartEQ+. The vocal FX sends include EchoBoy Jr & MTurboReverb.

I used both the Bass DI & Bass Amp. I thought they sounded great as is. The only processing was on the Bass buss - MSpectralDynamics (sidechained from Kick) to duck the bottom of the Bass on Kick hits, Ozone Imager to add some room, and bx_masterdesk for the Resonance Filter, tilt eq (Foundation) & M/S to control the effect of the Ozone Imager.

On the Drum buss I used ReaXcomp, C6 Stereo (Waves), SOR8. & bx_masterdesk. I used Gatey Watey for my gates on Kick & Snare. I used ReaEQ & Tube Saturator 2 on the Kick. Scheps 73 & Tuco on the Snare. For Toms I used bx_console G (eq only) & Tuco on the buss. The individual Toms got UltraChannel (Eventide) for gating, shaping, & compression. I LOVE UltraChannel on toms! A bit of eq & compression on Hihats, Ride, OH & Room.

I used both the DI & Amped Guitars. I amped the DIs for a bigger sound. A bit of eq & compression.

I hope you like my mix.

Hello!
Here's my mix
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hXpMA ... KL6ycAtVVM (wav)
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1tb7q2 ... QVM8R_U844 (mp3)

I did not use other Samles. I used only what is given in the competition.

Drums: work with phase, linear EQ, compression, saturation. Just a little bit parallel compression.

Bass: a lot of saturation, compression. In the refrain, the second track was used, with the middle of the bass highlighted.

Guitars. For the first two guitars, I used binaural panning and delay. 3 and 4 guitars just spread out the panorama. 5 and 6 guitars cut off the upper and lower frequencies with resonance.

Vocals: saturation, compression, EQ. I also used a dynamic equalizer to control the upper middle. In the last chorus I mixed the vocals under the distortion so that the vocals would not get lost in the mix.

Effects: In key places I used delay and long reverb on vocals to diversify the sound.

Thank you for listening! :phones:

Hi,

new DAW and lots of new plugins, so this is kind of a test drive:

MP3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=17k4fu ... nxcy17BYd1
WAV: https://drive.google.com/open?id=11VztF ... MNgfW3dUXc

As I am still "learning to walk" in my new DAW, there are absolutely no fancy tricks in this one. It's all straight EQ, Compression, Saturation and a bit of Reverb/Delay. As always I tried to stay true to the rough and just enhance that.

Cheers

Hi all
First at all what a great song, i used every single track.

Here are the tracks:

WAV: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BDvKIO ... sp=sharing
MP3: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AeKfUa ... sp=sharing

Drums:
I used eq and compression and compression on most of the channels. Then a fx channel for delay and reverb for the drums.

Bass:
I used eq compression, saturation and a bit of ambience fx.

Guitars:
I used eq on amp and di tracks and compression on amp tracks then a fx channel for delay and reverb and some automatiozations.

Vocal:
I used eq, compression a bit of saturation, a deeser then delay and reverb and automatizations to level the vocal.

Summing buss just a buss compressor and a vu meter for some volume correction.

Hi all,

This song is really good and the lyrics are interesting.

I listened to the original mix, Juli & Selbermond, read the lyrics. Was a little confused as the gen info said it was 90bpm though I believe it is 120bpm. I set my tempo to 120bpm.

It was quite a challenge especially trying to balance the subtle drum fills, snare and Cymbal/HH work, across a varied dynamic landscape.

The mix:

mp3: https://soundcloud.com/dwgh/mc047-rahel ... westcoast2
Wav: https://soundcloud.com/dwgh/mc047-rahel ... stcoast2-1

Here is a summary of the mix.

Vocal: Preamp + Eq + Comp + Reverb.

Bass: Used Bass Amp and Di with multibandComp. Di for the low end and Amp for the slides/fretwork. Bass Amp had Saturation. Some reverb.

Guitar: Only Git Amp 1+2+3+4 plus Di 5+6 used. They all had Eq. Amp1+2 had a slight echo/reverb on Bridge. Git Di 5+6 were Reamped.
Guitars were Grouped and Reverb added (except bridge)

Drums:
Kick: Eq + Gate on Kick sub. Eq and Compression on Kick group.
Snare: Snare Top: Eq + Gate. Snare Bot: Comp1 + Comp2 Keyed on Snare top + Eq. Snare Group: Comp + Eq
HH+Ride: HH and Ride had Eq and Grouped with added compression.
Overheads: Overheads and OH C also had Eq and grouped and Compression added.
Toms: All Toms were Eq'd grouped and compressed using a cut summed key track.
A Drum Group was then Parallel processed and Reverb added.

M/S: Grouped + Eq

Added a Bass/Guitar/Drum Group Level track to control the levels of the main instrument groups. This consisted of a Compressor keyed on the vocal.

Hopefully everything is in order, it has been a while.....
Some nice mixes already, be well and good luck all.
