Not sure if I'll participate or not this month. I was working on something but I'm finding it hard to finish it.
I agree with J I L L I A M . You should finish your track.

Quick question, why the LUFS recommendation? If we post to soundcloud there is no loudness normalization and everyone is maxed out iirc. I used to normalize to -14 for the OSCs, but no one else did so my tracks always came in quieter.

You can still do whatever you want - but the community is all about adapting good work practices rather than "let's rock and roll and let all lights go off".

If "louder = better = won round", then IMO the criteria have been set wrong.

Gotcha, just making sure. Last time I checked I came in around -12 or so, so I'm typically still in the ballpark, just want to make sure its not a disqualification :)

So once again I think I screwed the pooch on sticking to the theme, I’m not too familiar with ‘Prodigy’ although I did take a somewhat industrial approach during the intro and attempted to maintain an increasingly energetic punk rock or rather aggressive mood throught the course of this project. Also, it seems my inclination to inject my favorite movie quotes into each track thus far might just as well be my calling card, so to speak.. Albeit gimmicky and un-original, I just can’t seem to help myself.

That being said, the sample you hear is Joe Pesci from the movie ‘Casino’. The ‘title inspiring’ noises you hear during the intro is just myself digging thru a drawer in front of a condenser mic. LoL Also, I went with a Latin Choir synth this time followed by a Droplets Arpeggiator and finally a Pumping Electro Bassline to kick off the beat section.. which regrettably ended up being again more trance beat than big beat.

Since I use GarageBand by Apple to produce these tracks (again, don’t laugh) I couldn’t help taking advantage of one such apple loop which I used as my primary hi-hat track, I know it’s cheating, but that’s it.. the rest was pure creation. Besides, apple loops are royalty free! Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy it regardless.. and maybe this time I can be available for the voting process. Good Luck to the rest of you!!

BY THE WAY, HOW COME MY SOUNDCLOUD LINK IS JUST SOME WEIRD HTML CODE, AND EVERYONE ELSE HAS A WIDGET? AM I NOT COPYING AND PASTING THE RIGHT LINK OR SOMTHING??

Hey Anthemic, you have to put the track in the soundcloud tag you can find among the icons when posting a reply!

All you need to do is post the link to the soundcloud track. This site will form it into a widget on its own.
Just whatever url you use to listen to the track on the website, with no formatting.

https://soundcloud . com/user-318157254/swc019_anthemic_assemble
like this, without the spaces.

Edit: I stand corrected; see below.

That doesn't work on this site.
