Hello all,
Different kind of song to mix, but I made it . The song could use some arrangement and parts rewrite
However, has a good groove at times?

Wav 44/24
https://www.dropbox.com/s/goofqjwqnpk8s ... E.wav?dl=0

Notes- All drums went to a drum buss that had decapitator and vc-670.
individual tracks had some processing for tone shaping.

Bass some eq,rbass and fab mb

GT buss to individual buss little compression eq and verb the other gt had similar things done.
Also buss to a 1/4 and 1/8 note delay for some spread.

Rhodes had a Leslie sound added and eq.

Vocals got the most processing vocal doubler eq compression more compression plate sibilance and some devil loc
other vocals light eqing

I spent time doing automation along with moving the drums around for alignment trying to find out what felt good .I think the biggest thing was getting a balance of what I chose to be out front to help things move along.

Question or thoughts let me know!
Thanks Jerze

Hi you all! I'm new in the forum, it was nice to mix this song to practice; cool song, great group!

I started to listen the group to know how they sound like, then the reference tracks, so i could know what to do...

Here's my mix: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eex4bbp2to6h3 ... r.wav?dl=0

And here some screenshots of what I did: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/dx5locd9u7ih ... knota?dl=0

Hi everyone,
Here comes my take on the mix. I enjoyed a lot working on that great song! Thanks for providing the tracks!

WAV (48kHz/24bit): https://www.dropbox.com/s/w46qavj2ui3bc ... d.wav?dl=0

Mixing wass done on Cubase 10.5.

DRUMS:
Kick (balanced Kick In/Out and then grouped) - Gate, low cut, EQ took out some 200Hz, added some sub bass, tape saturation, compression
Snare - EQ, tape saturation, compression
OH - Tape saturation, EQ, compression,
Toms - Edited all Toms to remove bleed, grouped all tracks to a sub bus, Tape saturation, EQ, compression and limiter
Hats - EQ to take remove low end bleed
Room Drums - EQ (low cut to remove low end), Radiator to add some texture, compression
Crush Room - EQ (remove low end)

Drum effects: A bit of room ambience to glue things together, reverb on Snare, Parallel compression
I automated individual parts of Kick, Snare,Toms and OH througout the song.

BASS:
Tape Saturation, added some sub Bass (RBass), EQ+Compression, Automation

GUITARS
Grouped corresponding Guitar parts to Sub Busses
Gtr Verse - EQ (low cut & high cut filter, added some air at 10kHz), Deesser to remove some harshness, FET compressor, L2 limiter
Lead Gtr - EQ (low cut at 700Hz, high cut at 5kHz), compression
Chris Cab GRP - EQ (low cut filter and took out quite some in the lower mid-range to make space), compression
Crunch1 GRP - EQ, added some air, compression (1176)
Crunch2 GRP - EQ (M/S mode, reduced low mids in M), Deviloc for some extra crunch
Funky Gtr - EQ(low/high cut), DSEQ to control harshness, CLA2A for compression

Guitar Effects: Plate, Slap Delay, Spring Reverb, Stereo-Delay

KEYS:
Used quite some EQing to carve out space for the Keys/Rhodes and Pad. Automation helped to balance these further.

VOCALS:
Used Vocal Rider to automate/balance volume in LV.
LV, LV soft/low(panned left/right) and LV crunch were EQed, blended together and routed into one VOX GRP. Processing on this GRP together with Send effects were then combined to another Sub Bus where the room effects were added.Automation on the LV volume done throughout the track.
VOX GRP - Slight compression (RVOX), and Send effects: 1) Decapitator used add some weight 2) Pulltec EQ with high shelve at 10kHz (did some rides on that))
VOX Sub - Deesser, Neutron 3 sculptor for balance,1176 compression
BV - Panned, EQ, Doubler, compression plus a bit of Stereo-Delay

VOX Effects: 1/4 Delay (Echoboy), Vintage reverb (Valhalla), Spreader (Echoboy), Stereo effect (Chrystalizer)

STEREO Bus: Used light compression to glue everything together (Pulsar Mu, -1.5db gain reduction)

Cheers,
Flood

Hi,

here we go:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XljRQE ... sp=sharing

I haven't done anything fancy, just a couple sends to reverb and delay.

Snappy snare and kick, bass with more overdrive.

Main vocal have chorus and saturation.

In some cases the track become busy with a lot of instruments, I cut off some of them trying to keep the most prominent ones.

The stereophonic field has been controlled with mid-side matrix.

Cheers!

Hi everybody,
I'm a mixing beginner so I made a lot of things on this song, mostly to do some practice.
The song is very interesting so thank you for uploading it!
Here what I made for this mix.

-Drums

Made a parallel compression on a Drum Subfolder, I also made a little compression with a Eq-->Comp-->Linked Eq (with negative values) to give the drum more movement.
Put Kick and Snare on a channel strip (NCAR SE by Analog Obsession, to enhance them a little)
Enhanced Kick around 130 hz and lowered 250hz approx. to give bass more space.
Parallel compression e distortion for kick
Compression on Snare Sub folder and parallel compression, enhanced around 6khz.
Splitted OH to L and R for more stereo image.
Compression on Toms.
I didn't use Crush Room.
Added Dly and Rev on Snare and a Reverb on all drumset.

-Bass

Cut on Kick Fq and over 10500hz, added around 600 hz.
Made a soft compression with 2 different comp.
Made a parallel distortion

-Guitar

Compression Verse Cab+Funky Cab
par comp on Lead and pre chorus
compression on Crunch
Added short dly and some rvrb

-Synths

Made all Synths L+R except Lead Keys.
Par comp on Rhodes and Pad
Par comp on swell
Made a Keys subfolder with lead, pad and Rhodes and added a soft short and a long dly

-Lead
Made a parallel with a flanger
Made parallel compression
Did not use Crunch
Parallel to enhance 1.3khz
Added "W.a. Production Vocal Splitter" on parallel
Dly+Rvrb
Softly tuned last note

-Back Vocals
Compression on sub folder
Splitted Low Lvl for chorus and post-chorus
Created a pan spatial effect fot the low Lv
Added rvrb and dly

-Ahh

Folder compression
Short and long dly + rvrb

-Master
Glue Compression
Auto Expander to adjust general level

Made some automations (screenshots)

Hi Everyone!

Here's my mix:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i05ex20eri1al ... r.wav?dl=0

I used mostly stock ProTools plugins and Fabfilter Proq2 Eq on most elements.
G bus compressor on the mixbus. Vocal automation and a drum crush.

Thanks!

Peter.
