IT'S UPLOADING!! FINALLY!!
Okay I'll edit this one to prevent double posting
OoF - Hearts of Stone:
wav: https://mega.nz/#!2cwQRbbD!Gster610q_yd ... P-xDU3lVk4
mp3: https://mega.nz/#!nRRUVL4D!Fhafb1BNrW4k ... fvtbstBsI8
This was a weird one. Got the idea at the beginning of the month and laid out most of the drums and bass. Spent most of the month thinking of a lyric, which never came, and I can't really sing, so I gave up on that.
The original project was some kind of symphonic metal thing, so I had some orchestration ideas here and there...so I spent these last days programming midi like crazy, rearranging and polishing stuff... making the intro took a day and a little sanity away.
Anyway, I tried to add enough stuff to make it stand on its own as an instrumental. I spent the last couple hours doing a quick mix and I ended up normalizing it all to -14 LUFS, I hope I didn't mess up anything, it sounds okay to me.
I'm really happy with the result! I hope you guys enjoy it, and I'm curious about what's been posted so far.
Oh, btw, the song is inspired on a videogame, The witcher 3, dunno if anyone knows about it. Particularly a DLC named like the track, Hearts of Stone. It is a great story and I just happened to finish it. I really recommend it if you're into that stuff.

Here it is !
The song is named "Burn with me"
I am the composer of the song, i entered lately in the contest, so didn't had the time for a polished mix, but throw it as it is.
Was inspired by some 90's metal, with a rock feeling too.
Composed with Logic Pro X.3, with a Macbook Pro, Apollo Twin soundcard, Presonus monitors, Focal Headphone.
Sennheiser K4 microphone.
I was not alone !!!!
FRANCE : I played and tracked the rythm and additional e-guitars/e-bass and acoustic guitars. I have done : drums programming, synths, my vocals tracking (ad vocals and lead vocals during the choruses and the smooth moment), and mixing.
FLORIDA : Tony (Tbase 2K) is the lead (ANGRY) singer during the verses and the spoken moment. He tracked his vocals with Cubase 9, and a lot of additional vocals track. Even if it is my submission, this is his song too ! He even worked on an alternative e-bass that is not in (lack of time)
FLORIDA #2 : Snowflakes made an awesome performance for the intro/outro of the song. Tracked (freely) by Tony, no animals were harmed during the recording. Snowflakes is a goat and seems not to like so much the song.
AUSTRALIA : Nige made the angry hi-pitched ad vocals, crazy stuff !
UNITED KINGDOM : Lukasz Sobiepanski tracked an insane e-guitar solo !
GERMANY : Polarbear worked on an other bassline too, that is not in the submission b/c of the lack of time, sorry for that Bro !
Thanks to Beeble (Germany) for the support and advices, Danny (United states) for the nice idea to put an acoustic guitar on it...
Thanks to Mix Challenge for the opportunity to create with my mixmeisters.
Peace !

Here's my entry -
'through the night'
MP3:
http://erictracks.com/wp-content/upload ... enight.mp3
WAV:
http://erictracks.com/wp-content/upload ... enight.wav
Pretty simple - strat through an amp, jazz bass recorded direct, vocals, and addictive drums. I made some poor distortion choices and didn't have time to rerecord, so apologies for the mid-range heavy guitars.
70s and 80s influences. Supposed to have a fairly slow buildup. Hopefully sounds somewhat unconventional (but not completely haphazard).

Hi there
This competition got hard really fast! great tunes, great creative level and musicianship! Hope to be up to par...
So, here´s my submission, very last minute.
Hyperthyroid.
.wav 44khz 32bits

mp3
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zh2rjaen37c56 ... d.mp3?dl=0
Used SonarPlatinum´s synths (including Garritan Pocket Orchestra and AddictiveDrums), my guitar and bass. So, no other players other than me. Also, there´s a mix of recorded 5 watt amps (a Vox and an Ibanez) and TH3 (amp sim).
Well
Happy listening to everyone!

I wasn't going to, but in the end someone needs to lower the tone for a larf. Come on kids, we're talking METEL here!
95% of the time I write tasteful indie pop/rock. The other 5% is composed of daft things like this and country and western.
http://www.bennyleeds7.myfreeola.uk/swc ... nge-v3.mp3
May be about the dear leader of the free world, and may (ok it has loads....) contain traces of swearing..
Turn it up to 10.9.

Re: SONGWRITING COMPETITION - SWC01 September 2017 - Preparation Period
It is the 25nd September 2017, 1:45am GMT+1/CEST - the first Songwriting Competition has therefore ended
Thank you so much for your participation to this new "game" here on the Mix Challenge community. If I didn't miscount, we have 7 participants this month! I kind of expected more participation, and I really had a scare until the last minute with the lack of participation. But it's a good start for the first Competition of this type. So, definitely nice work, everyone!
Technically, DT was also one minute too late, but well... internet traffic and all.
How do we go from there?
Over the course of the next (hopefully) 24-48 hours, I'll gather all links into one post and hot-link to that from the first post of the thread. So please, check your links again. Mistakes and hiccups do happen on the internet.
We then perform with the so called "public vote" system. Meaning... everyone that participated is allowed to create a a top 10 list in descending order (best entry first, not so good entry last). With the exception of voting for the own production. This will be done in public for about 5 days max, until it's the 1st of the next month, or all contestants have cast their. Please consult the "Rules & Guidelines" for further info.
We have 7 participants, those being: Nige, Tbase2000, OctopusOnFire, MOA22, erictracks, kc23, donkey tugger
That means that each participant can vote for 6 tracks.
The Top 10 list (or Top 6 per participant rather) can look something like this:
Feedback after the "scoring list" is highly encouraged.
Musicians and Engineers are always after constructive criticism.
Feedback for me (the host) is also highly encouraged (and actually desired, else things can't be improved upon).
For example, regarding the change of the rule set:
http://mix-challenge.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=94 (I'll probably fuse that thread with the corresponding "General Gossip Thread")
But also feedback in general. And maybe you have an idea for an upcoming Competition. Please voice your feedback/concerns here:
http://mix-challenge.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=97
Please have an eye on this thread!

Really nice work out there. Way to get it in. Glad the first comp turned out solid.
