Hello everyone ,
Thanks for review and feedback , here is my submission for round 2
1-Remove cardboardy sound from toms.
2-Added presence to the guitars.
3-Raise all gtrs section after solo just a little bit.
Pretty great. I really like how the chorus sounds, this is I think the best part of the mix. Everything is still very defined, the guitars sound well, and the section after the solo rocks. There are some minor things, like the initial splash is too loud (probably because of the compression) and at times there are some sprinkles of hi energy that are just a little too much, that no doubt come from the cymbals for this same reason. But like I said, these are minor things. You did a nice job.

Hello,
I'm happy to join the round 2.
I overhaul almost everything, especially backing guitar. It's very hard to sculpt the miked amp sound.. Way harder than amp simulators(too realistic).
Hope my modifications works well, because I fixed many things the feedback doesn't point out.
In detail
Drum bus - use UAD FATSO to thicken it up
Kick - little more low?
Snare - use MJUC to thicken it up
Backing guitar - kill resoanace, muddiness and make it smooth with Q2, decapitator tone knob. Some saturation with Neutron 2, decapitator.
Lead guitar - little saturation with Neutron 2
Master - reinforce low to mid-low with bx_2098 EQ, and some saturation with Black Box HG-2(PA), Ozone 8.
Very nice. I love the guitar tone. Your mix keeps being pretty balanced, what you did to the rhythm guitars works, they apparently have more energy now. Both guitar tones: lead and rhythm are now up to par. Your kick sounds awesome. Snare sounds good. Kind of splattered but contained at the same time. The speed section sounds great and wild now. Again a very nice mix, except this time is nicer than nice.
This is my R2 mix.. Following the feedbakcs..
I using some paralel processing to get more "in your face" sound than my 1st mix. Enjoy it. Thank you very much for this competition
Sounds great. Nothing negative to note other than the echo on the lead guitar when it is doing rhythm (after the chorus) messes with it and makes it sound confusing. Everything else sounds fantastic.

Thanks for the feedback. It was actually good to get some distance from this and when I listened I thought it was a bit dull....I agreed with your comments btw.....I added mv2 to guitars and redid the bass whilst keeping your comments in mind. Added some parallel distortion to the snare.
I remember how nice the lead guitar sounds here. Your mix is pretty memorable. Shit! The speed section blows your hair off!!!! Ha ha ha! The solo section sounds well, but I do think the piano somehow sounds too loud now, it may have been better in the previous version, the solo guitar tone keeps being great. Nice awesome job.
Baddo, I addressed all the findings you noted. Maybe not to your liking, as the language of sound is not set in stone.
You, noting the dull section shows phenomenal attention to detail.
A snare that "could be better" leaves a lot to the imagination, so I just did what I felt lifted the song a bit.
As always for round 2, I adjust several other things not pointed out by the client. I know this seems counter productive, but I just can't help it.
I changed the character of the kick. Less distorted, more defined especially through the fast parts by automation. I felt it was a little soft in my Round 1 mix.
I changed the character of the bass guitar. I wanted the bass to poke out more and fill up some of the low mids, because I felt there was room for it in the overall mix. I know doing stuff like this is super critical when the judge is a guitarist, but the bass brings some powerful harmony-like notes and strenghtens the guitars and fattens them slightly.
On the mix bus, I raised the top end slightly 8K upwards and also raised 650 Hz with a small bell curve. 650 Hz is dangerous as h... but I wanted more grunt and upfront-ness from the whole mix.
On the drum bus, I changed the Clariphonic EQ settings to try sweeten the top end of the kit slightly.
There’s nothing not to like. I really enjoyed this mix, you made it more badass now, so that is even better. Good call on changing the bass, it sounds much more active now. The toms sound a little too distorted at times, but that would be the only negative thing I can say. The cymbal bleed on the Toms every now and then makes me feel bad, I struggled with it on my mix, eventually just pushing down the toms. But yes, I guess that’s a problem with the source tracks and not the mix.
Both you and Leo Krechmer did “warming up” intros. Both doing something different but similar in function. I do like this to an extent but my issue with it is it takes something away from the track and that is you have to wait for the main riff to get the kick. I think if we were in the studio I would try to produce this section to have some more grooviness in the way a pumpy loop has it, so that it doesn’t feel flat. But that is clearly beyond the scope of the contest, so no worries.
As mentioned in the feedback the first mix was way too harsh. The guitar mics all have lots of energy in the 2-3k range (my guess would be the amp setting) which I got used to and consequently matched everything else to the guitars. It's a very delicate area for metal guitars, so I tried to fight the harshness while maintaining a natural guitar sound that still cuts and also speaks. Therefore I have completely redone the solo guitars. Of course, everything else had to be tweaked to fit the new sound as well, especially the drums! And the bass... and the piano
I wanted to get an even more enormous sound to lead the warriors into the thunderstorm... I hope you enjoy
Mork
Mork, Mork, Mork, Moooork. What can I say. Your mix kicks ass, plain and simple. Your mix sounds huge. I have some notes,: regarding the verse guitar, I think it could be just a little bit louder, and the 3rd guitar after the chorus could be louder too, I can hear them well as they are, I just would like them to be louder. And I think that would be all, other than that this is top notch. Massive.
Sorry guys, I was on vacation last two weeks, not able to update the mix. So my version of the first round will also be the version of the second round:
