@LCM! Sorry, I just removed the limitation. It should be accessible now.

This was only practice for me, delete it and I'm fine,
I'm 75 years old and do not see so well and I have a problem reading a whole book of rules anyway
Good luck
I hope you'll be back. For what it's worth I thought your mix was great and would still have been great if you hadn't inadvertently infringed the rules. I did the same when I first got here.
Best wishes

Yes, the rule book seems intimidating because it is really detailed, but actually the rules are simple.

We have to provide a mix ready for mastering, the song provider normalises our mixes to compare them at the same level.

So, the rules can be summarised quite easily:
- true peak: -1dB max (and -6dB min to avoid a bit depth drop)
- integrated LUFS: -16dB max
- export with the same bit depth as the provided tracks
- export with the same sample rate as the provided tracks
- respect the filename template
- be careful to the file accessibility (no private access)
- no drums replacement

And that's all...

Agreed... now I understand them. Being disqualified focussed my attention, no complaints here. I like the loudness rules, it avoids simple "louder is better" moves that skew a competition like this and encourages the art of making an impact without just resorting to loudness.

It is not all...don't forget:
-no re-uploading your mix, your (first) upload is final
maybe I forgot something....best to check the rulebook anyway!

The Mix Pack bundled "TL;DR Rules.txt" covers all that as well.

:arrow_right: Either way - friendly reminder:
Including today, 13 days left.

I have 15 mixes on my HDD so far (if I didn't miss one), the multi-tracks have been downloaded 119 times.

OK, that's almost all.
But it was a summary, the checklist before posting the mix, if we don't want to regret not to have the possibility to reupload the file. :P
Even if a mistake is always possible, I'm always surprised by the amount of files that don't respect these rules.
Saying that, I hope I won't be tagged out in the data sheet or I'll feel ridiculous!

I feel I should mention that the integrated LUFS limit shouldn't strictly be written as -16dB, but -16 LUFS only.

While it's true that 1 loudness unit is 1dB (IE: turning a master fader down by 1dB should result in a loudness decrease of 1 LUFS), dBs are typically concerned with peak waveform levels where as LUFS are measured over a longer period of time; so -16 LUFS integrated is not necessarily the same as -16dB.

Actually, loudness fluctuations measured with EBU R128 or ITU-R BS.1770-1+ are noted down in +- <value> LU, not dB (relative) or dBFS (absolute).

The task is still:
do not exceed -16,0 LUFS ILk (loudness, integrated) and -1,00 dBTP max signal strength.

:information_source: I will update the Rule Book - TL;DR section later tonight. This is long overdue. However, the "full set", the Mix Pack bundled TL;DR Rules.txt and post #001 all cover this multiple times over.

Let us please get back to the main game.
