Intention was to create more atmospheric feeling for track using panning and delay/reverb FX. Added low frequencies to sounds so that parts where main sub bass is not present, low end is still felt, using EQ and distortion/drive. Used EQ on all tracks to shape overall freq balance more even across freq range. Compression and limiting to even peaks on some tracks.

All the best to everyone!
Wicked open feel!

Hi, this is my first mix contest. Hope everything complies all the rules. Here is my mix, I tried to get a good sub/kick relationship and a nice groove, and then fill gaps with the rest of the instrumentation.

Good track btw.

Love the density in the opening, and where you got those 'raindrops' to sit in the mix! Sick work on the kick.

@BespokeAudio
The file seems in surround sound format (11 channels). Actually there are L and R channel
with audio present in this file but regular players can not play that.

Hello everyone,

This is my version:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0w51g0sjua1w0 ... g.wav?dl=0

Most tracks have some compression , EQ (also and Slate Virtual Console.
Added standard m/s widening to the synths and fx.

Factory Pad and Piano got Eventide Blackhole.
There is a bit of distortion added to the bass and
the kick (UAD Culture Vulture). The bass is sidechained
from the kick.

The drums group is sending a little bit to the parallel bus where are
a small room, a stereo maker and compressor present.

There is Eq, Acustica Audio's Sand3 comp and Celestial on the main bus
as well.

Thank you.

Hello,
My mix:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1byHDJH ... sp=sharing

It actually was hard to mix, because every section of this song was different so it was lot of automation of tracks. I almost not used hard eq or reverb. For me it was all about balancing. I used original track as reference. For me original track has a little bit less low end then i mixed but after A/B i just took a little bit low end as on original track.
I hope you like it.
Cheers!

Super nice track, I really like it. Drum & Bass is a nice genre I have to admit, maybe I will try this kind of music in the near future. :phones:

Here is my mix:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Main work was gain staging and mangling the 808 so that it sits just right in the mix. I used some upper harmonics to beef up the bass and worked with a dynamic eq to duck under the kick. There is also some volume automation after the break, minor tweaks for some drum elements and the pads to keep up the wavey vibe and the high energy of the track.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Hi there!

I don't know if I get the sound of that genre.. I liked the aggressiveness of the original mix but I thought it needs bigger sound I would say?..with more low frequencies? and still keep the aggressiveness. I don't know if I made it, you'll be the judges. This track should be played loud in a club with subwoofers on!! Am I right?

Turn up the volume to listen right because the mix is in a console levels, the needle dances around 0VU=-18dBFS.

And don't forget to turn on your sub if you have one! You'll enjoy that very low bass.(maybe)

Hope the link works
